ABOUT US

The company was founded in 2007 by Simon Hardie, offering garden and property related services.

Limited only by the number of hours in the week working solo, the company quickly expanded to a second vehicle, and the full time employment of Simon's brother, Will Hardie. Simon had seen an area of the market which seemed unfulfilled.

“Over and over, people told us about their experiences with garden and property trades people, who were often unreliable, poorly equipped, invariably uninsured, operating below the tax radar and without the wherewithal to provide a no quibble, reliable service completing quality work on time and at fair value”.

With a background running previous service businesses, Simon Hardie put in place an ethos based on hard work, and “doing things properly.” As a result, Adept Garden Maintenance now employs a team of 4, (augmented by a network of associates ad hoc), runs 4 specially adapted vehicles and has long since become the “go to” supplier in the local area, providing service to private homes large and small, pubs, blocks of communal flats, and local managed estates.

With liveried vehicles, uniformed team members, a full range of equipment, full insurance, a range of ways to pay and a “can do” attitude, whether your work is one off or regular, we will attend when we said we would, do what we said we would do, and charge what we said we would charge. It sounds simple, but customers still tell us that we are the exception, not the norm. On the rare occasion that we don’t get it right, we will always make it right at no further charge.

We live in the villages where we work, support other local businesses and make charitable donations/sponsorship's within the local area. Many of our clients have known us since we were children, (3 of us were born and raised here, and the 4th only as far away as Cheltenham), our reputation is of paramount importance to us, and we work hard to maintain it.

Recent years have seen a proliferation of one man bands offering seemingly similar services from the back of estate cars, but the issues outlined above still remain, we have stuck firm to our core values, and our customers tell us we are doing it right!

The next chapter for Adept began in 2019 after Will Hardie gained full qualifications to operate as an arborist. Following significant investment in the necessary equipment, Adept Tree Maintenance now operates successfully across several counties as well as taking care of our local customers.

Boasting an impressive array of equipment, skills and experience, there is not much that we do not undertake and complete, in fact, we are Adept!
